Alpha Beta Takes on the Big Hike for Cancer Research UK
June 2026
On Saturday 6 June 2026, a group from Alpha Beta took part in a half-marathon hike through the Brecon Beacons in support of Cancer Research UK.
This marked the second year running that the team has taken on the Big Hike challenge. While last year's event was completed in very different weather conditions, this year's hike brought its own challenges, testing everyone's determination and team spirit along the way.
Despite the conditions, it was an enjoyable and rewarding day, providing a great opportunity to come together as a team while supporting a cause that means a great deal to many people.
We are pleased to have raised £3,485 so far and would like to thank everyone who contributed to our fundraising efforts. Whether you donated, shared the page or cheered us on, your support helped make a difference.
We are proud to have been involved for a second consecutive year and to help, in a small way, support the important work that Cancer Research UK continues to do.
A huge well done to Geoff Brooks, Andrew Thompson, Melanie Kennard, Sarah Warner, Phoebe Thompson, Fiona McCaig, Richard McCaig and Sunny Rai for completing the challenge.
The big question now is: who's up for the full marathon next year?

Women in Business Society at University of Exeter
November 2023
In November 2023, as supporters of the Women in Business Society at the University of Exeter, Sarah Warner (Sustainable Manager) attended the University of Exeter to give a talk on Sustainable Investing and how investment can be a force for good.
There were a lot of questions and interest in this area of investment and hopefully this inspired the next generation of sustainability-driven female finance professionals.
